Weddings are one of the most joyful celebrations we get to experience this side of heaven. And when Jesus is at the center? It becomes something even more powerful - a living picture of the gospel, wrapped in lace and love and a whole lot of happy tears.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of photographing so many couples who wanted their faith to be more than just a mention in their ceremony. They wanted it to be woven into every moment. Here are some of the most meaningful ways I’ve seen couples infuse their Christian faith into their wedding day:
1. Prayer Before the Ceremony

Some Christian couples choose to pray together without seeing each other—standing back to back, holding hands around a door, or reading handwritten prayers aloud. Others invite their bridal party or family into a pre-ceremony prayer circle. It’s one of the sweetest, most sacred moments to witness (and capture).

2. Worship Music During the Ceremony
Imagine walking down the aisle as live worship fills the space with reverence. I've seen couples include worship songs as part of their processional, communion, or even a full worship set during the ceremony. It's a beautiful way to welcome the Holy Spirit into your Christian wedding.

3. Foot Washing as a Symbol of Servant-Hearted Love
This one always gets me. Just like Jesus washed His disciples' feet, some Christian couples choose to wash each other's feet during the ceremony to symbolize humility, service, and love. It often brings the whole room to tears.
4. Meaningful Scripture Readings
Instead of traditional readings, many couples choose to have close friends or family members read Bible verses aloud. Whether it's the classic 1 Corinthians 13 or a lesser-known verse that holds personal meaning, it centers the ceremony on God’s truth.

5. Christ-Centered Vows
I've heard couples write their own vows that include prayers, declarations of faith, and promises not only to each other but also to God. These moments are tender, honest, and rooted in something far deeper than butterflies.
6. Communion Together
Sharing communion during your wedding is a beautiful way to reflect on Christ’s sacrifice and unity in Him. Whether it’s just the couple or the whole congregation, it brings the focus back to the true meaning of covenant in a Christian marriage.
7. Giving God the Glory in the Details
From embroidered Bible verses on gowns or veils, to signs that share Scripture or testimony, to favors that include mini devotionals - the options are endless. Your wedding details can point to Jesus just as much as the spoken words.

If you're dreaming of a wedding day that reflects the joy of the Lord and the beauty of your love story, I'd be so honored to capture every moment.
